Mindfulness: Finding Your Inner Peace…

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog. I hope you are well!

Today’s topic on my blog is Mindfulness, but more specifically this post will focus on top tips on how to find inner peace. I appreciate that you can’t just wake up and everything be sorted, finding your inner peace will take time; but it will be worth it.

“Inner peace is a choice, and many of your habits determine how much peace you experience in your daily life.”

So here are some tips to help experience inner peace:

  • Stop focusing on things that are out of your control

This is very much easier said than done, however hear me out. Why worry about something that you quite literally cannot control or change? It makes you more upset and anxious, which is what we are trying to move away from.

  • Be true to yourself

This is really important because if you’re trying to be like someone else or impress other people, you will never truly love yourself for who you really are. Make decisions based on what’s important to you and what you would like in life.

  • Exercise regularly/go out for fresh air

Sooo, let me be honest with you right now guys, this is something I’m still working on and HAVE been working on for like a lifetime now haha! I do exercise occasionally and I must admit, I do always feel better for it – it’s not only good for your body but it’s good for your mind as well.

  • Silence your inner critic

If you would like to find your inner peace, you need to silence your inner critic. We are all very comfortable with the idea of critiquing ourselves, but would we ever say it someone else? Probably not, so why are we so harsh on ourselves? You are in control of this and it’s something you can work on so you stop doing it as often because it destroys our self-esteem and the constant negative energy will never achieve inner peace.

  • Practice mindfulness/develop calming habits

Okay, so we all know that I speak a lot about Mindfulness on my blog and I really do think that if you practice mindfulness and develop calming habits, eventually it will lead to you finding your inner peace. If you slow down, take time to reflect and pay attention to our thoughts and our sensations, this can calm and relax your mind & body.

So with Covid-19 still being very much present, now is a good time to start finding your inner peace so you can grow mindfully and feel better for it. I think it’s much harder to find inner peace when you are going at 100mph; Covid has forced us to slow down and take time, so use it wisely. I think it’s always important to challenge your inner self, so go ahead and try it.

This last year has been incredibly challenging but like I keep saying, we are all in it together!
